the BIG Question 2016 - Does Welsh housing need to change to succeed?

The landscape in Wales is as challenging as ever for housing.  With a new Welsh Government in place, the next five years are crucial, and housings role in delivering the programme for government continues to be significant.

An ambitious target for 20,000 affordable homes, public service transformation, regulatory reform, mergers, new legislation, the appetite for risk and an increasing need to demonstrate value for money are just some of the issues housing organisations are grappling with.  Are they ready for the challenge and fit for purpose?  Do we need to change to succeed in this new environment?

Our annual high-level policy symposium will debate the current and cutting edge issues in housing, with time for discussion, debate and networking.

Who's on the programme?

It's a power-packed programme for our most hard-hitting event of the calendar.  Merger chief executive Amanda Davies, insider insight on local government re-organisation from Steve Thomas, and the new (returning) Cabinet Secretary with responsibility for housing, Carl Sargeant AM.  Expect masterful chairing of the event (and some corking chair's first questions!) from our own Gavin Smart, deputy chief executive and director of policy at CIH.
